NV5 is a leading engineering firm at the forefront of designing AI compute data centers.
They engineer, commission, and manage various projects, from underwater transmission lines to high-demand AI compute data centers. As the thermal demands of AI compute infrastructure are at the cutting edge, NV5 is working closely with Cadence and NVIDIA. This collaboration allows NV5 to design infrastructure based on the specific equipment being installed, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
In some of its data centers, NV5 has been working on sectors with over 800 racks and 200+ AI DGX H100 systems. By working with the two AI-industry leading companies, NV5 will be able to provide the most energy-efficient, high-performance, and peak reliability designs and infrastructure in their data centers.
The equipment’s high-density demands are stressing data center thermal and power requirements to new levels, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has become of core importance to demonstrating and simulating steady-state and failure-state planning scenarios prior to deployment. NV5 relies on Cadence Reality DC tools with NVIDIA Omniverse to simulate the AI data centers' high-power and thermal demands.
Andrew Chang, NV5’s executive director, stated, “We chose Cadence because the Cadence Reality DC tools are considered the gold standard in mission-critical CFD. NV5 is looking forward to further collaboration with NVIDIA and Cadence. We’re excited to use Reality DC to simulate and develop further AI-specific data engineering strategies for the rapid growth of this industry.” Learn more about how NV5 is optimizing data center efficiency, performance, and reliability with Cadence and NVIDIA.
